Located on the hills a few kilometres away from Fidenza, Salsomaggiore is the third largest centre in the province of Parma. Enjoying a lively cultural life, it is famous as a spa town thanks to its subsoil water supplies, used since ancient times for marketing salt and afterwards for hydrotherapy.

Worth noting monuments and museums are the Terme Berzieri (1913-23), the Warowland Gallery, the Town Hall, the Congress Centre, the Paleontological Museum and the Church of San Vitale.
Once a year Salsomaggiore Terme hosts the National Beauty Contest of Miss Italia.

How to get there
32 Km from Parma. By car from Parma motorway A1 exit Fidenza-Salsomaggiore or North ring road and after exit 9 take the junction direction Fidenza or SS 9 direction Piacenza (west) and in Fidenza take SS 359 to Salsomaggiore Terme. By train, railway line Parma-Fidenza-Salsomaggiore, change in Fidenza. By bus, Tep line Parma-Salsomaggiore Terme.
